Alison is a Senior Associate in our Employment & Immigration team, having recently joined Capital from a leading commercial law firm.

She regularly advises and trains employers and HR professionals on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment issues including disciplinary and grievance matters, long-term sickness absence, discrimination, employee relations, reorganisations and TUPE. She also has significant experience of acting for clients in Employment Tribunal matters, often involving complex multi-party litigation.

Alison previously undertook an 18-month secondment to a large publicly listed company, during which time she was the sole employment lawyer and provided legal and strategic advice on all employment related queries, as well as training to the group HR function and the HR population.

  • Successfully acting for a large construction company in a multi-party tribunal claim involving 52 claimants and complex race discrimination issues.
  • Providing detailed advice to a large logistics company regarding the closure and relocation of depots throughout the UK.
  • Advising a pharmaceutical client in relation to a collective consultation process involving changes to terms and conditions of over 100 employees, which resulted in no claims being brought against the company.
  • Advising a global technology company in relation to the termination of a key commercial agreement and award to a new supplier, including overview advice on TUPE and drafting all correspondence and documents.
  • Assisting a large PLC to successfully defending a complex disability and constructive dismissal claim with a potential value of over £100,000.
  • Providing advice and on-site support to a facilities management client on numerous collective grievances brought by 100+ staff as part of a targeted leverage campaign against the business by an established trade union.
  • Assisting construction client to successfully defend an application for recognition brought by a trade union to the Central Arbitration Committee (CAC).
  • Co-ordinating and advising clients on volume settlement agreements arising from large-scale redundancy programmes.
  • Assisting clients from a variety of sectors in negotiating and finalising exit terms for senior individuals.
