Clare is a Solicitor in our Commercial Disputes team, helping with a variety of commercial, business and property disputes – both residential and commercial.

Clare joined the Commercial Disputes team as a Solicitor after completing her training contract at a Welsh firm. Clare studied Journalism, Cultural and Media Studies at Cardiff University before completing her GDL and LLM LPC at the University of Law in Bristol.

Prior to joining Capital, Clare obtained extensive experience in a wide range of disputes including contractual, partnership, property, regulatory and Intellectual Property.

Clare is the Wellbeing Officer for both the Cardiff Junior Lawyer Division and Cardiff and District Law Society. Clare’s commitment and enthusiasm to wellbeing within the profession prompted LawCare to ask her to be one of their ‘Champions’.

Clare also sits on the South Wales Forum for Tomorrow Committee and assists in organising the Committee’s networking events for young professionals in the property and construction industry.

  • Assisting in advising the BMA in connection with the amount of service charges claimed by NHS Property Services (“NHSPS”) from around 300 general practice surgeries across England.
  • Advising a Housing Association on its repairing obligations and potential disrepair claims.
  • Assisting in acting for a trustee to pursue a £7m breach of trust claim affecting over 300 of its beneficiaries who invested their SIPPs in a fractional ownership property scheme in the Caribbean.
  • Acting for a company in the Upper Land Tribunal defending a claim for modification or discharge of a restrictive covenant benefiting its land.
  • Resolving a landlord’s dispute with a tenant who had breached numerous restrictive covenants, including sub-letting parts of the premises without authority.
  • Advising a GP partnership in a dispute regarding the notional rent reimbursement it should receive following relocation of its premises.
  • Acting for a GP partnership in a complex business lease renewal relating to an implied periodic tenancy.
