Jessica Lawson

Solicitor
Corporate & Commercial

Jessica is a Solicitor in our Corporate & Commercial team since September 2019.

Prior to joining Capital, Jessica worked at Swansea University’s in-house Legal Services team for three years (2016-2019). She started there as a paralegal for six months, before completing her training contract in October 2018 and working as a Junior Legal Advisor.

During her time at Swansea University, she dealt with a vast range of commercial contracts, advising the University’s staff, both national and international universities, and external organisations.

Jess has acted with pace, been detailed and diligent in her approach and response but has also found solutions to scenarios I wanted to cover and protect USW for, should they arise. She has also carved out provisions to allow my team and I to regularly update suppliers with legislative requirements as they arise but also monitor and measure their performance/ ability to be compliant  this is important to me as its becoming more and more of a requirement, but is also an area for development for us.

In summary, a really good experience as an end user and I am confident that these documents now set USW up for success with suppliers, as we create new commercial relationships with them.
