Richard Evans

Richard is an Associate in our Commercial Disputes team.

Richard has excellent litigation experience. He has acted in both group and high value litigation, both for individual and commercial clients. He has substantial knowledge of the Financial Conduct Authority Handbook, the Financial Services and Markets Act and Consumer Credit Act together with an excellent command of the Civil procedural rules and litigation procedure.

He has provided commercial and strategic advice to banks and large financial institutions regarding mortgages, loans, challenges to contractual terms and other litigation risks. He continues to provide commercial advice to a number of businesses in connection with a variety of disputes.

Richard has been heavily involved in business interruption insurance claims for businesses who have suffered loss as a consequence of the pandemic.

Substantial knowledge base in respect to Financial Conduct Authority Handbook, Financial Services and Marketing Act and Consumer Credit Act.
Training members of the mis-selling team concerning case law updates and improving knowledge of financial services litigation.
Preparation of large litigation cases including group actions against SIPP pension providers and large mortgage companies.
Assisted on a varied caseload of litigated financial mis-selling claims involving multiple financial products, complex mortgage repossession cases concerning issues such as fraud, subrogation, restitution, title rectification, landlord and tenant issues and professional negligence.
Helping to manage and progress a portfolio of business interruption insurance claims on behalf of a variety of businesses.
