Jon is a Partner in our Commercial Property team. He is an experienced commercial property lawyer offering practical, commercial advice.

He advises on a broad range of real estate deals and projects, for which technical skill, team management and a commercially minded approach are key to providing excellent service.

Jon’s clients include property investors, developers, financiers and public sector bodies. He is able to offer advice on a broad range of property deals and projects as well as portfolio management. Jon supports many non-real estate businesses, including major UK businesses, in connection with their business space requirements.

Jon acts for developers, investors, financiers and occupiers, and has advised major UK, US and Europe based real estate and non-real estate sector businesses and leaders in the education, retail, media, healthcare, IT and creative industries sectors.

  • Acting for the UK’s leading port operator in connection to its large and varied real estate portfolio. Recent major projects include a contractually complex disposal of a dock site to a consortium of developers, the disposal of interest in a circa 40 acre site as part of a strategically important multi-party deal, and the establishment of a multi-million waste to energy facility in South Wales backed by a major fund.
  • Successfully handling the agreements for the withdrawal by a number of statutory undertakers of their objections to the compulsory purchase process, on the development of a major infrastructure project.
  • Acting for a number of large occupiers for whom real estate is not a core business, but which hold significant property portfolios, from SMEs to large private and public companies; and in particular for leaders in tech, media and creative sectors.
  • Advising on a strategically important headquarters acquisition by a leading fintech operator of in a new landmark City of London building.
  • Working closely with a leading tech and early stage businesses in connection with their operating space requirements, including supporting leading tech and start-up hubs and workspace providers.
  • Acting for a charity which runs academy schools as part of its much broader charitable ambit and handling the disposal of its London based HQ for £11.5m.
  • Handling the real estate work for a leading computer games company, including a multi-million premises disposal and a significant re-gearing of its UK headquarters lease.
  • Acquisition of and advice in relation to the redevelopment of a manufacturing base and visitors centre for a major international drinks company.
