Rebecca is a Solicitor in our Employment and Immigration team. She advises on various non-contentious and contentious matters, from corporate transactions to bringing and defending employment tribunal claims.

Rebecca trained in Cardiff and qualified in 2017.

Rebecca works with businesses of all sizes and particularly enjoys working with exciting start-ups. During her time at an award-winning corporate and commercial firm, she regularly assisted on complex corporate sales and acquisitions.

She also has extensive experience in advising on and negotiating exits via settlement agreements (including COT 3 agreements), including for numerous directors/shareholders on sensitive and high-value exits.

In recent months, Rebecca has focused her attention on navigating and understanding the complexities of the off-payroll working rules and the changes that were due to come into force in April 2020 (postponed to April 2021).

Brought up in rural Carmarthenshire, Rebecca can speak Welsh and also studied French as part of her LLB studies.

  • Providing support on complex corporate acquisitions and sales by assisting with employment-related due diligence, contract drafting/reviews, the application of TUPE and settlement arrangements for departing sellers.
  • Advising on challenging redundancy issues in light of the coronavirus pandemic, to include navigating new rules on furlough and collective consultation issues.
  • Helping businesses prepare ahead of the introduction of the new off-payroll working rules in April 2021.
  • Advising on and negotiating exits via settlement agreements (including COT 3 agreements), including advising numerous directors/shareholders on sensitive and high-value exits.
  • Preparing ET3 Responses and assisting with disclosure exercises/bundle preparation for various clients facing employment tribunal claims. Advising on litigation risk/strategy, liaising with and supporting instructed counsel, providing guidance to businesses and individuals on tribunal process.
  • Day-to-day HR and employment law support to a wide-range of businesses, both in Cardiff/west-Wales and London. Dealing with ad-hoc queries and urgent ER issues. Assisting with matters such as holiday or notice pay calculations, contract drafting and tailoring, drafting policies and procedures, cultural change initiatives etc.
  • Delivering training sessions on HR/employment law matters including the Equality Act 2010, off-payroll working rules and case law updates for a variety of audiences.
